Maybe the coping skills that have helped you before, aren't working so well anymore? Maybe that feeling of being overwhelmed is happening quicker than it used to, like your resilience is starting to run out. Going to the cinema, the gym, or seeing friends used to help you relax and clear your mind, but now you're too anxious to face any of them.

 

And then the unhelpful self-talk: "pull yourself together", "snap out of it", "grit your teeth, and just get on with it".

 

Avoiding and distracting from anxiety feels like it might be the answer to your problems, but it only works for a short time. Then you're back to square one.

Unfortunately I am unable to offer face to face or home visit appointments at the moment due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. I will be offering these again as soon as it is safe to do so.
